The director of TEBVist, Josep Maria Soro, has been recognized with the Communication award of ASPID , an organization that offers tools to people with disabilities for their integral development.

Josep Maria Soro received the prize accompanied by TEBVist’s reporters Isabel Guinaldo and Nil Martinez in an event that took place on July 6th in the Seu Vella of Lleida, with the presence of the Catalan Minister of the Presidency, Neus Munté, and the mayor of Lleida, Àngel Ros.

These awards, which reach their twentieth edition, recognize individuals, institutions and initiatives that are “an example in defending the rights of people with disabilities” and contribute to “a social transformation in favour of their integration.”

When receiving the award, Josep Maria Soro expressed the need to empower people with intellectual disabilities to have their own voice and be heard. In their speech, Isabel Guinaldo and Nil Martínez pointed out that there are still many steps to take to have a true inclusive school, to integrate people with intellectual disabilities in the work market or to avoid discrimination.

TEBVist, a first-person television pioneer in Catalonia

The prize awarded by ASPID is a new recognition for TEBVist, the first online television channel in Catalonia carried out by people with intellectual disabilities. Last year, the project already received the Solidarity Award from ONCE and the award of the Council of Social Welfare of Barcelona City Council to the Media in the category of internet.
