Bolet Ben Fet has received one of the “Committed Km0 Producer” awards at the annual meeting of chefs of the Slow Food Catalonia movement that took place on March 18 in Ametlla de Mar. The farm has been recognized for its cultivation of quality, ecological and socially responsible mushrooms.

In addition to the acknowledgments to local producers, the event hosted the 2019 Plaque Award Ceremony to the new restaurants Slow Food Km 0, which now total 51 throughout Catalonia. As usual, the “Mercat de la Terra” (ecological food market) also took place, with some fifty local producers, as well as lectures and recipe book presentations.

Slow Food is a non-profit ecogastronomic association founded in Italy in 1989 and currently present in 122 countries. It aims to promote a new culture based on good, clean and fair food. The chefs work with local and ecological farmers, use seasonal food, avoid the use of GMO and cook fish caught in a sustainable way.
